Egypt Uncovers Fraud Plot Involving Fake Judges

In a development raising significant concerns about judicial impersonation, Egyptian authorities have arrested several individuals implicated in a scheme designed to defraud citizens by posing as judges. Primary suspects include an unemployed resident of Cairo and a student from Giza, who have been detained as part of a wider investigation into fraudulent activities involving fake courtroom scenarios and deceptive social media posts.

The scam allegedly involved fabricating courtroom scenes and impersonating judicial figures to persuade victims into believing that housing allocations could be secured through government agencies. Upon their arrest, the main suspect was found in possession of items enhancing the façade of judicial authority, including a firearm, a judicial sash, and falsified identification documents.

Authorities were alerted to the fraudulent activities following a complaint about a man purporting to be a judge involved in financial deception. Subsequent inquiries led to the revelation of a second accomplice, further deepening the investigation. Court employees have also been detained for questioning, shedding light on the extent of the network's operations within official premises.
