The Yemeni conflict is entering a new phase, marked by developments in drone warfare that could reshape its dynamics. For years, the Houthi faction, aligned with Iran, enjoyed superiority in drone operations, leveraging this technological advantage to monitor and strike opponents well behind the frontlines. However, recent activities reveal that forces loyal to the internationally recognized Yemeni government are adopting similar tactics, deploying drones across multiple conflict zones.

This evolving capability does not yet indicate parity with the Houthis, who maintain superior infrastructure and experience. Nevertheless, even partial advancements in drone technology by government forces could necessitate strategic recalibrations from the Houthis. Despite these developments, the Houthis continue to execute relentless offensive operations across key regions, including Marib and Hadramout, and maintain pressure on Saudi interests. The group's recent actions along the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandeb illustrate a sustained offensive stance, counterbalancing any strategic vulnerabilities. However, as both sides adjust to the increasing use of drones, the nature of this long-standing conflict will inevitably evolve.
