Renewed Houthi Missile and Drone Strikes Target Yemen's Port of al-Makha

The Houthi insurgency in Yemen has intensified its campaign against the port city of al-Makha, launching a new wave of missile and drone attacks. This latest assault, which claimed at least 11 lives, continues to challenge the Yemeni government's hold on western coastal regions. Government forces reported intercepting several drones while two ballistic missiles were safely diverted into the sea.

The Houthi military spokesperson provided an operational rationale, citing Saudi military reinforcements as the impetus for these escalated strikes. Footage from Houthi-aligned Al Masirah TV underscored the scale of the operation with imagery of numerous missiles and drones being deployed to target strategic areas.

Al-Makha's infrastructure sustained significant damage amidst the attacks, impacting both commercial and civil domains, including port facilities and essential food supplies. National Resistance Forces have called for civilians to seek shelter, criticizing the indiscriminate nature of Houthi bombardment and emphasizing the risk to civilian safety in the besieged port city.
