Monsoon Devastation: Fatal Floods in Northern India

The recent deluge across northern and northeastern India has led to catastrophic floods and landslides, resulting in at least 25 fatalities. Indian-administered Kashmir and the northeastern state of Nagaland witnessed the worst impacts after days of relentless monsoon rains.

The state of Jammu faced extensive property damage due to flash floods in Rajouri, highlighting immediate humanitarian challenges. Emergency responders, including army personnel, continue rescue operations amidst an environment of disrupted public services and suspended pilgrimages, such as the Amarnath and Vaishno Devi treks.
