China Increases Naval Patrols in South China Sea Following US Carrier Strike Group Deployment

Chinese naval forces have significantly increased patrol activity across disputed waters in the South China Sea following the USS Ronald Reagan carrier strike group's entry into the region. Pentagon officials confirmed the deployment is part of routine freedom of navigation operations, though Beijing characterized the move as deliberately provocative. Satellite imagery reviewed by Fanaar analysts shows at least fourteen People's Liberation Army Navy vessels repositioning near the Spratly Islands, including two Type 055 destroyers. Regional allies including the Philippines and Vietnam have raised their maritime alert levels in response to the escalating naval presence.
