Joseph Parker Cleared After Cocaine Ban Attributed to Nutritionist

Joseph Parker, former world heavyweight champion, has been cleared to return to professional boxing after serving a three-month suspension due to a doping violation, which authorities attributed to his nutritionist's cocaine use. The New Zealand boxer had tested positive for cocaine following his defeat by Fabio Wardley in London.

The United Kingdom Anti-Doping (UKAD) agency confirmed that Parker's ingestion of cocaine occurred out of competition and was not related to enhancing sport performance. The positive test was deemed to be the result of secondary exposure from Parker's nutritionist, who admitted to regular cocaine use.

Parker's ban lifted with immediate effect, he is poised to resume his boxing career. His professional record includes 36 victories and four losses, with a reign as WBO heavyweight champion from 2016 to 2018. UKAD's findings effectively removed the suspension that had led to Parker's provisional ban and consequent loss of mandatory challenger status against Oleksandr Usyk.
