Suspect Armed with Firearms Arrested at Trump Golf Course Pre-Visit
An individual was apprehended at Trump National Golf Club in Rancho Palos Verdes, carrying a loaded handgun and hollow-point ammunition. This arrest took place just days before former President Donald Trump's scheduled visit to the property for a Republican fundraising event.
The suspect, identified as 38-year-old Jeanine John Taele, was seen photographing and appearing to evaluate security measures. Authorities discovered a pistol with a chambered round and additional loaded magazines in the suspect's vehicle, following an initial search that revealed a 16-round magazine on the person.
Further investigation by detectives collaborating with the FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force led to the discovery of a modified rifle, more firearms, high-capacity magazines, and alarming writings at Taele's residence. However, no substantial threat to public safety has been confirmed. Taele is currently held without bail as potential charges are determined.
The incident comes as part of Trump's broader campaign activities in California and Nevada in anticipation of the approaching midterm elections.
